Global CFOs to voice views via new collaboration
ACCA and Duke University team up for major survey

For the last 18 years the US-based leading business school, in conjunction with CFO Magazine, has led one of the world’s most reputable finance leader surveys to track CFO sentiment on a wide range of business and finance issues. The global footprint of ACCA’s membership across 173 countries, representing multiple industries and sectors, will complement the insights to be gained at both a global and regional level on the key issues finance leaders are dealing with.

Jamie Lyon, FCCA, head of corporate sector at ACCA said of the new collaboration: 'As the world’s global body for professional accountants, ACCA is committed to understanding and addressing the issues, challenges and opportunities CFOs face. The Duke University survey gives our CFO members around the world a platform to voice their opinions and concerns on the critical issues impacting their businesses. There are not many channels on which they can do that at a global level. This survey is a great barometer of sentiment among the world’s finance chiefs.'

John Graham, Professor of Finance, Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, commented: 'By combining ACCA’s extensive network with the already-established worldwide reach of the Duke/CFO magazine survey effort, the Global Business Outlook survey will have unprecedented access to the views of CFOs from around the world. The output of this effort will provide important insights into the interconnected worldwide economy.'

Jamie Lyon added: 'CFOs are now, more than ever, at the heart of the world’s businesses. From controllership of the enterprise, through to supporting its strategic imperatives, increasingly they play a fundamental role in an organisation’s success. Their insights will continue to be a strong indicator reflecting the finance and broader business landscape.'
